My company has ... gone

I had a very short but lovely visit with Trish and her husband Bob. They arrived early last evening in time for us to have a nice meal together and linger over the dinner table visiting. Thomas was ecstatic because Bob so obviously enjoys cats. Cole gave his "I can take you or leave you" performance but it was clear that he too wanted to have some of Bob's attention. We isolated poor Cole in the other part of the house so we could have the deck door open for cool air but he could watch us through the french doors and was very upset that we wouldn't let him out.

I am being very careful not to let him slip out. One of my neighbour's cats was devoured two days ago. They found bits of fur and the head. Probably a coyote I would think - I hear them on the hill behind us. Poor wee cat. I don't know these neighbours but my heart goes out to their children at the loss of their pet. They had three cats and this one was still young - about a year old.

This morning we had a big breakfast and of course lattes. Then Trish and Bob had to get on their way and I went to pick up Rick (man who does my yardwork) so he could auger some fence post holes. So that got done today and a few other little things so colour me happy. I want to try to get out early tomorrow to do a little weeding and watering. In fact I will be going out to do the hand watering in just a few minutes and also will put the sprinkler on for a hour or two.

So I had best go for now. I am slowly sorting through stuff and hopefully will be getting help soon. My friend Terri has a lovely lady staying with them for a while. She is from Japan and apparently would like to remain here. At the moment she is taking on cleaning jobs so I hope to have her for a block of three hours each week. That would help me immensely. :)

Awwww, I'm glad you had a nice visit with Trish and Bob. That explains why you two didn't respond to my email! :P

Just kidding. I had a killer nap - like I didn't know what day it was when I woke up, so I'm a little grumpy. :) Did they just come to visit you? Which is a good enough reason, don't get huffy!
