Enjoying the Midas ... touch

Nick from Midas phoned to tell me my car is ready and when he heard my stuffed up sounding voice he told me to come in on Monday to pick it up if I would rather. I can have their car to tool around in over the weekend. How nice is that? These guys are really sweet. I have nowhere to go except a quick trip into Westbank this afternoon so I won't be racking up the milage on their car. Tomorrow I am not planning to go anywhere either so Monday is great for me. I have to go take some mail in for the lawyer then so I will kill two birds with one stone as they say. Why anyone would want to kill birds or use a stone to do so is beyond me but....

I watched a lot of TV last night. I usually only watch for an hour or maybe two but last night I started at 6pm until around midnight when I had had enough and shut it down in the middle of a movie. Can't even remember what the movie was ... couldn't have been that good. But I was tired (had raced to accomplish some chore at each commercial) and ready to sleep. I had a restless sleep, interrupted by weird dreams and of course my gentlemen friends poking their noses in my face - no doubt checking to see if I was still breathing. I didn't get up until 11am. Thomas was delighted when my feet hit the floor and pranced around me trying to get me into the kitchen to feed him. He knows the bathroom comes first but he still tries to convince me otherwise. Little cutie.

Cole just sits patiently by the den door until I finish in the bathroom and take care of Thomas' needs in the kitchen. Then I usually make something for myself before returning to open the den door and feed Cole. We sit companionably in the den enjoying our morning repast. Cole usually scarfs down enough food for the moment and then comes to investigate mine to see if there is something he would like. Thomas meanwhile has finished his meal and is sitting in the hall sending looks of indignation in our direction. I feel sorry for the little beast. But I have weakened in the past and the result was an allergic reaction to the treats. So the poor little guy has to do without.

Thomas and I were playing yesterday. In the past when he had claws he would claw me when he got too excited or angry. Lately he has just tried to claw me but it is just a pleasant stroke with soft furry paws. Yesterday he didn't even attempt to claw me but simply showed his displeasure by sinking his teeth in my hand. He plays for a while and then he gets frustrated and I am not always able to discern when that moment is until too late. There is a fine line between playing and teasing.

Well, I must get going here. I have much to do and lots of time in which to do it. :)
