I am feeling ... exhausted

Esther and Lisa left on Wednesday. I drove Esther to the airport and when I returned I was suffering from the heat. And yet, it has not reached very high temperatures. Sigh. It gets worse every year. Every year I notice that I am weaker and not able to take as much heat as the previous year. Yesterday I had to go to Westbank to pay my property taxes and although I was only away from the house about a half hour, I could barely walk back into the house when I returned. An airconditioned vehicle would be wonderful but that is something I don't have. Also at the moment I cannot park my car in the garage so it sits in the heat. Hopefully that is something that will change soon.

Paul is supposed to be coming here to remove a bunch of debris to the dump and start work on my deck. He is also saying that he will install the garage door opener that I bought a few months ago. Then I will be able to access the garage. Paul was supposedly going to do all this beginning this past Monday but that didn't happen due to circumstances not in his control. Also Rick was supposed to be finishing my front fence and told me that he would be here every day this past week and I haven't seen him either. And then there is the chap who has been promising to come and finish putting stucco on my house for the past three years. He said he would be here this week but .... The big problem is that there are very few people that do odd jobs and the good ones are booked for a year or more at a time. So old gals like me end up with the ones who are not responsible.

I talked to Helen today and our pet problem is no closer to being resolved either so I am feeling rather trapped. I try to do what I can but it is so very little that I barely move forward at all and many days it feels like I am going backwards. But I must push onward.
