the heat is making me ... hot.

We have yet to really get into the heat of summer but I am suffering nonetheless. I keep as cool as I can in the bedroom but that gets very boring and I don't get much work done. I decided a couple of nights ago to clean my closet and the remainder of my dresser drawers. Well, I thought it would take one evening but we are now on the third and there is still a lot left to do. The good part is that I am getting rid of stuff. I used to love shoes and now can't wear any of them. It breaks my heart to part with them but ...

Some stuff I want to keep but don't use at the moment so I have packaged and labelled it carefully. What slows me down is when I find a bag of mementoes that require sorting through and then I find myself going down memory lane. Sigh. It does help though when I remind myself that I will have a better life once I have rid myself of the clutter.

Next week I am hoping that I will have a lot of garbage hauled away from my yard. There is a pile of yard waste, a huge pile of unusable lumber (collected by Rick and stored in my shed), some old bits and pieces like a very old and unusable bicycle (Rick's) and a couple of weed-whackers. Then there are some recyclables and other things that need to be disposed of properly. I have some chemicals that I have to take downtown to a depot that handles them. Once this is all done I will have more usable space and a better looking yard.

I am hoping to have a new deck built and usable by the end of the month but that is my timeline and not Paul's although he says he can do it. Then my home will be finished on the outside at least. I am not doing much other than decluttering, cleaning, and a little painting. The new owners can choose their own flooring and so on.

Well, I am so hot and tired. I am going to call it a night. I have to be up early as I am finally getting more of the exterior stuccoed at 7am. This has been on the go for about three years and is finally being done. I climbed on Gary's back, locked my jaw as I bit into the back of his neck and refused to let go until he delivered. In other words I phoned him constantly and when he complained to Marcy she said that maybe he should just get the job done and that would get me off his back. Yay women power. Hehe.
