Today Sara Stallard came for a short visit. She is in Kelowna for a bicycling conference and tour. She is also planning to cycle all the was back to Victoria with a couple of friends. We visited at the house for a short while and then went to the 'Fogg and Sudds' for supper. She had a tasty looking Thai salad and I had fahitas. We both drank a couple of pints of beer - I had Rickard's Red and Sara drank Guinness. We talked and laughed and then I drove her out to the UBC campus near the airport.
Now I am home and am getting ready for bed. Tomorrow Zoe and a friend arrive so that will be fun as well. I rarely get guests so this is a rare treat. My house of course is a disaster area but what the hey.
Yesterday, Thursday, I had to go across the lake into Kelowna for a mammogram and as I usually do, I ran some other errands as well. I bought myself a cell phone at London Drugs. It is a Telus plan but one that I think will work well for me. It is a pay as you talk plan and there is no contract. I have to pay $10 a month for a regular top up of minutes and can top up if needed between times. The phone itself only cost me $69.99 ($78 something with tax) and has the emergence GPS tracking, a camera and lots more. It is a flip phone and is a royal blue colour. I don't have a number yet as I have to go and sign up online so I will do that in the next day or two when I have time. I will have it to take on my trip to Alberta that I still plan to take - now in July.
The cats are being little pests rignt now. They have both been very loving the past few days and Cole was just on my lap a short while ago. Now they are peeking in at me and then racing away down the hall. They weren't too sure about Sara. I got home about five or ten minutes after she arrived. Her friends were just leaving when I got there and Sara was in the house (I don't lock my door). She had just done a walk through looking for my dead body since I hadn't answered the door. I had gone out for wine. Hehe. Both cats were eyeing her suspiciously until I arrived back.
Well, it is past time for bed so I will call it a night. Only four more sleeps before I return to the Sleep Clinic to be fitted for a CPAP machine. I can't wait.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic about the cpap machine. The people I know that have one says it changed their lives. They wake up refreshed, they don't get migraines anymore. It's a big deal. Of course, it takes a little bit to get used to. :)
I love your new picture. Where did you take it?
Oh heavens. I had to re-read my post to see why you might have thought sarcasm. No. Not at all. I am genuinely excited at the prospect of having more energy and less heart problems. I can't wait to get there and start using the machine. I know that it will be annoying at first but I plan to persevere. Only three more sleeps now (not counting naps).
The picture was taken in Victoria when I was there to celebrate my birthday (60).
