I slept until 3pm today! I was really feeling exhausted. Last night I went to Fun Cards and since it was the first one of the fall season and since I am in charge, I also was the hostess which meant I had to prepare our snack and do kitchen duties. I wasn't feeling well but I managed to do it all and finally got home at 10:30pm. I was tired but not yet sleepy so I didn't settle in bed until nearly 2am. I slept for about three hours and then of course a call of nature (no not the cats - I had to go potty). Then around 7am a different call of nature - the cats this time. Feed us! So up to feed them and use the facilities and back to bed - this time right through until 3pm! Wow. I must have really needed the sleep.
Of course I haven't had much energy to do anything big but I did play the harp for about an hour and then I gathered some recycling and put a few more items in the 'charity' box. I was at Carlos O'Byran's (the bar section of Kelly O'Bryan's) with Marcy two or three nights ago and they are having a special deal for the month of October. Every time you go in and order a Kilkenny ale, you get a pint/sleeve sized Kilkenny glass for free. So I came home with one as I always order the Kilkenny. The problem is that if I bring one thing home I must get rid of two things. Hmmm. Well, I got rid of the one beer glass I was indifferent about but then I couldn't find anything else so I also gave up the new glass - both into the 'charity' box. So next time I will decline the Kilkenny glass - or else take it and put it with its mate. :)
I have a fairly busy week ahead of me. Tuesday is Seniors and I am having a longer entertainment. An hour with Ray Volk - a sexy saxophonist. I will have a good sized dance floor, some extra goodies and hopefully folks will stay and enjoy. I am also in charge of the kitchen for the month of October on behalf of the Spanners. I had to phone and get help from the Spanners membership and it was difficult. All but one of the ladies who agreed to help are from my own Fun Cards group which is also part of Spanners. Sigh. So this month I go and buy the food that we will have for the small lunch we have after the meeting. Then we put on the coffee and tea and set everything out so that when the time comes the members just file into the boardroom, pick up what they want and go sit down and enjoy. I am okay with deciding what we are going to have and going and buying it but the rest is difficult since I have so many other jobs and have to be available to the members. But I finally (as of this morning - yes, I got a call this morning, that woke me up for a minute) have enough help. I will bring the food in and start the coffee and kettles going and then the other ladies will arrive and take over. I will help with cleanup at the very end but most of it will be already done and I will just let the ladies go and finish up myself.
I don't believe in overworking anyone but myself. :/
Then I have to get some paperwork done on Wednesday and Thursday and get downtown on Friday. That is my week. Or at this point anyway. Except that I might go to the auction on Wednesday night. There is an antique auction but I am sure that I won't be able to afford anything.
