I am ... refreshed

I just awoke from a fairly long and refreshing nap. The doorbell went or I might still be relatively comatose. I don't know who was at the door but they rang the bell and then right away rang it again and again. By the time I got pants on, they were crossing the street to a neighbour. But they did me a favour since I would prefer not to be sleeping at this time of early evening. I need to get out and start watering the lawn. Rick hasn't been here all week and I am really ticked off.

I have started my new diet. I don't know how well it is going to go but at least I will give it a go. I have not been feeling well for a very long time - as well as all my physical problems of arthritis, fibromyalgia and so on. I remember being told by a naturopath that I shouldn't have dairy because of my sinuses and also that wheat might be a problem. So I am doing my best to go on a dairy-free / gluten-free diet. I plan to do this for about a month and then start adding stuff back one item at a time and assessing the results. I have been having more whole wheat since becoming diabetic and that might not be a good thing and also I have more dairy because of my lattes. Mmmm. Anyone know what rice milk is like? I can't have soy. Mind you, I shouldn't be having caffeine or alcohol either. Wish me luck. I don't anticipate a big problem - anyone who can do the Danish diet can do anything. :)

I don't mind Rice Dream but I don't think it's nearly as good as Silk soy milk, which you said you can't have. :)

Good luck with the diet. I've lost 20 pounds + this year and I'm really proud of myself. I still have a lot more to go though. Doesn't that suck?

Your coyote story was exciting. They do love cat. I'm sorry for poor Cassidy. You're really going to have to watch Cole and Thomas since they've been declawed.

I will check out the Rice Dream. Although I shouldn't have the coffee I would like a latte now and then. I have a feeling that I won't be going back on dairy - at least it will be restricted.

I am not on this to lose weight although if I do that would be okay. I really have been feeling not good so thought this might be a good idea. It is also based on the 'Eat Right for your Blood type' book that I read at your dad's. That plus what I was told some years ago has spurred me on to experiment.

Good for you for losing the 20 pounds - not putting it back on is the challenge. It is a slow process but worth it.

As for Thomas and Cole - only Thomas is declawed, but I don't let either of them out. Cole tries to escape and sometimes does but not often. He gets so angry at me and begs / demands to be let out but I just look at him and say 'no'. Then he paces around going 'NOOooooooo' in his Siamese yowl. :)

I tried the Eat Right book. I never lost weight but I still follow some of the principles. That's why I drink the soy milk and eat the soy yogurts. Trying to cut out the dairy. And very little red meat. And less gluten.

I have been feeling better (current medical issues aside) just from following WW. I have a big salad every day and at least two cups of carrots, other veggies and fruit. I was surprised that I got in and out of the tub so easily with only one good foot. :)

Today I had pizza, but the percocet was doing a number on my tummy and the carrot sticks weren't helping. :) I only had vanilla Rice Dream, I can't say what the plain would taste like...

Also, someone I know swears by this woman. http://www.gillianmckeith.info/

It costs money though, but it's supposed to figure out what foods you should be eating. I'm not sure I want to do it yet.

Are you refreshed yet? It's been a month.
