I was married on Dec 10,1977. It was 72 degrees below zero. The wedding took place in the arena bar in a small mining town called Clinton Creek, Yukon Territory. Clinton Creek is no longer but was about 400 miles north and a bit west of Whitehorse, Yukon. It was fairly isolated especially at freeze-up and spring break-up. I loved it there. Today for some reason I remembered the day and have been reminiscing on and off.
Yesterday I overdid. I made 11 trips to the basement to take down 'stuff' for storage and to furnish the bedroom that I am trying to re-do. A man from the carpet store (down the road from me) came to measure and I selected a carpet in a colour I liked. Today he phoned with the results but I beat him to it. I said, I figured it out in my head and I am sure it is just over $1200. He agreed and I said that we would have to look more because that is way over my meagre budget. So he is doing that for me. I don't need a quality carpet as it is in the basement and is a room that is rarely used. I do, however, want it to look nice and be warm and inviting.
I had my visiting Teachers come this morning. They are lovely women. We had a nice chat and they brought me a gift of two Christmas mugs. Also a dessert cookbook put together by the women of the Westside Branch. That was very thoughtful and I will enjoy the cookbook even though I will be unlikely to do much baking.
Well I should not be sitting here blogging when I have much to do. Also there is a cat on my lap so it makes it difficult to type. I trust that all is going as it should in your life. Love, M'Lou

Hi M'Lou
Just found your blog mentioning Clinton Creek. I've posted about 100 pics of Clinton Creek and the Top of the World highway from Dawson. Also have a Fortymile album. Might be a walk down memory lane: http://www.tickledpixels.com/
Use the Nav Bar above the slideshow to go to Galleries - Historical Sites. Enjoy.
